Wine for Dogs
On this blog, I will review wines and occasionally post a goofy dog video.

Frontera Merlot ~ 2009 Concha y Toro
After having a couple of other cabernets, I've realized that cabernet sauvignon isn't one of my favorite grapes. It doesn't stand alone very well by itself. I like wines that are self-sufficient and can fly solo (without food pairing). But the quality is okay for the price.

Santa Ema Merlot: Reserve ~ 2007 Maipe Valley
This is the first bottle of wine I bought. I don't know if I can objectively review it now, but I remember liking it a lot. I'm not quite sure what I think of merlot yet, but I would readily buy this wine again... if I had the money.
Perrin & Fils: Côtes du Rhône Villages ~ 2007 France
This is a wine I had a while ago, but haven't thrown the empty bottle away yet--ahem, I mean recycled. Um... Surprisingly, when I first opened the bottle, the taste wasn't very complex or satisfying, but after a couple of days (perhaps due to oxidation) the flavor started to open up. Also, it had a much longer finish than I had anticipated, and when I held it in my mouth for longer, it was better.
TWISTED: OLD VINE ZINFANDEL ~ 2008 California
I liked it a lot. It tasted better than the one I'm having right now. I liked it both when I first opened it and after it had been in the fridge for a week (even though the taste changed a lot).
